R290 flashed to R290X not booting

Indeed i must admit it did seem odd under the circuimstances, and i must also admit being a little hasty to assume something like that .

Still thanks to you guys all sorted now and works a treat, BF4 on ultra looks good .

So glad that worked for you. A lot of gpu incompatabilities can be solved by updating the mobo bios. A tad weird that it worked with the 290 bios and not the 290x bios though. Oh well, at least it's sorted.

I had the exact same problem with a build I just did recently, I had to put it back to the 290 BIOS as there wasn't a BIOS to fix the problem.

That looks like a stock R290 to me, time to start and RMA request, *sigh*.

A) that's the non flashed side B) hell would freeze over before I went without a gpu and RMAd it when I could have it fixed in 10m by flashing it myself.
