Annoyingly for me it is Whatsapp, purely because that is what the majority of people I know, use as their messaging client. Much prefer iMessage but not everyone I know owns an iOS device.

Second to that is Mailbox and Sunrise.

Mac: ReadKit (used to use Reeder, prefer ReadKit anyhow), Evernote, TextWrangler, Caffeine, Moom, XtraFinder, Steermouse, VLC, The Unarchiver, VirtualBox, Handbrake, Max, Tag, Dropbox, plus the majority of the commonly used Apple apps (Safari, Messages, Mail, Pages, Notes).

XtraFinder, Moom, Steermouse, VLC and ReadKit are particularly recommended (the best available for what they do IMO).

iOS: Reeder, Evernote, Dropbox, Safari, Mail, Messages, Google Hangouts, Hullomail, plus a bunch of games and few other small apps.

I've just come across and OSX app called Flexiglass which I'm quite liking. It brings some useful features to window management - including the Windows 7 style 'snap' which I've really missed. It's available for a trial from there website.

Try out bettertouchtool while you're at it, it has the window snap features too alongside a load of customisation abilities, and its free!

OSX
flux - Screen temperature adjustment
SoundBunny - Per app volume control centrally on a mac!
BetterSnapTool - Window snapping
Battery Guard - Estimated battery life remaining after it was removed on Mavericks
Hyperdock - Window previews on hover on the dock, much like Windows.
Transmission - Miles better than uTorrent
VLC - No mediaplayerclassic on OSX
VOX - Simple music player
UnRARX - Lightweight, unintrusive rar manager.
