Could I be potentially banned for using this or is it safe to use? I cant seem to get a definitive answer about this.

Probs cause no one can answer. When it comes to online games I tend to never mod the online part at all. Better to be safe then sorry,

I wouldn't, modifying files of online games is just too risky unless the devs have specifically stated that it is allowed.

They allow it in WoW so I am assuming Diablo is okay :l

Google it, first Battle.net thread result has a blue post about this that says:

"Hello,

Anything which modifies the game client or game files is prohibited, and if discovered, sanctions may be enacted against the user's account."

You can argue whether it does mod the actual game files or not...but based on the above I'd just not bother

WoW is modable by design, Diablo III is not.
