Wondering if someone can help my little dilema; I need to waterproof some wood that will be outside 24/7 365 days a year.

The scenario is that there is a little gap/enclosure at the back of the garage that is accessible from the garden (about 2.5x0.75m). It's roof (which was thin 3 ply i think) was destroyed in the bad weather and now needs replacing. I was thinking of some 6/9mm ply on top but what to use to weather/waterproof it? Paint is fine, it doesn't have to be varnish and whatnot.

I want to use it to keep garden tools and the mower.. It needs a bit of work to keep it cosy and weatherproof but is do-able... I'll post a pic when I'm home.

Edit: Is Yacht Varnish suitable? Satin not gloss :)

I thought about that but thought (again) that it would be tricky to seal the gap between the felt/wood and garage outside wall.
Where if I paint/stain etc the wood I can just use clear silicon?

Just buy WBP or Marine ply. Or just felt it, or preferably both, felt and bitumen paint on WBP/ Marine ply will last decades.

Use flashband to seal it from the wall.
