Anyone think Wagamama restaurants just suck?

On food, they should do a healthy fast-food takeaway chain. Many times I've not been bothered to cook but then looking online for deliveries it is all kebabs, pizza, chinese, etc, or if I want somewhere to go pick up it's just KFC, McDross, etc. I'm sure there must be a sizeable demand for outlets that open late and serve healthy choices like stuffed jackets, chicken salad, wholemeal fresh filled baps, etc.

Don't like sushi don't think ive tried much from there. I tried wasabi and that i thought was over priced, they supply it in a bucket and i bet if you emptied that bucket on to a plate you would see how little it is. You can go to a cafe in a side street and get a bigger meal for the price, on a plate with a knife and fork.

Wasabi is a mustard, are you saying you bought a bucket of wasabi as a meal??

I like Wagamamas. The Katsu curry is the best hangover dish ever. Plus you do get unlimited green tea (and why would you expect free refills in the first place).

It all comes at different times because everything is cooked fresh by a specialist chef who only cooks a few of the dishes.

I pretty much fell in love with their katsu dishes, but I haven't been in a while (over a year?. Only been to the ones in the centre of London mind you. It's ok for a quiet noon lunch with friends, but there are other decent chains out there.

I thought the food was great, although I know I could find something much nicer in a city, (this one was at Cheshire Oaks)
It was the awful service that sucked, I could see staff chatting away by the kitchen but they rarely looked around to see if anyone wanted anything.
It was very hot too.

I'd go again, I just wouldn't go back to that one.

i was contracting in cardiff over christmas last year and went to one there. it was decent imo but the seating was rubbish. my back was aching after sitting on a bench for 30-40 mins.

there's also a place called wok-to-walk in cardiff (never seen one of those before either) and i thought that was a great alternative to usual take out crap.

Sounds like a Chinese Nandos.

Wouldn't bother tbh. I always get disappointed when eating out so try not to.

Or find a Minging Pub and buy some kind of mixed grill Birger crap... :( lol

You need to go to better places. Me and the girlfriend always try to eat out at least twice a month, if not once a week, and we go somewhere new every time. It's a great time to try something new and spend a few hours without TV/laptop etc.

You'll regret not doing it when you have kids (if you don't already) because you simply won't be able to.

I'd say overall I'd agree with Raymond. I like Wagamamas and can't say that I have ever been pestered to order sides or drinks.

The large shared tables ... Well they are trying to emulate the similar sort of seating ound in some far eastern restaurants. The food is Japanese, at least in the most part, but it's been westernised so that it will sell over here.
