Hi guys,

Years ago I used to use Hiren's to test memory, HDDs, reset windows passwords etc.

It seems it isn't being updated anymore... Any up to date alternatives?

I was searching for alternatives myself last week to try and solve a windows 7 issue at work. I only found four. Hirens 15.1 which I already had, there are two different Ultimate Boot CD's by different authors and FalconFour's Ultimate Boot CD v4.61.

The latter was harder to get hold of but was more up-to date and a bit slicker.

I also use PEBuilder3110a and make my own as this way you can add more up-to date applications and the ones you want eg I have it booting to Mini XP with Partition Magic, DriveXML and Lazesoft Recovery Suite.

You can save your setup so if you ever want to add more software just get the plugin and the software add it to your plugin folders and then burn a new version !

There are a lot of pre-configured plugins which help. Its not comprehensive but better then Hirens etc which I was only using as I had exhausted everything else.

Cheers mate, but UBCD has been updated quite regularly! Will bookmark the PEBuilder thing should I need it in the future, thanks!
