So much bike porn was on display at the R100 today. I was riding my lowly winter bike. Didn't want to get my carbon bike all muddy and wet!:p

I couldn't believe the amount of people using carbon clinchers in the torrential rain. My braking was terrible with an alloy brake track!

Thats where I got mine... you can see my comment in feedback.

They were slow to ship as I got them to swap out the BB for a real BBright (no extra cost). But everything was perfect with the order, they had even fitted the bb correctly which isn't an easy task.

EDIT: To add I have done a couple of 70km rides on it now.. its perfect. I've had loads of Chinese frames but this one really is a cut above.

After a late night trip to SW London last night to grab an allen key to bolt my wife's bike back together, she did the ride today in 5hr23mins. :D Very proud of her even though she is disappointed not to do the full 100.

It's a little disappointing that the organiser's contingency plan for rain is cut the course. Surely neutralising descents and extra marshalls would be far better - nervous riders would still have had the option of a shorter route. I know condition were bad but it just seems a real shame.

Personally I ask for a picture of them on scales, some sellers will lie then offer you a small refund when you complain they are over weight.

Last 3 wheelsets the sellers have sent me pics with them on scales no problems

It would be trivially easy to get scales to show a lower weight, so anyone trying to scam you could still easily do it.

In my experience most are not scammers or would go to those lengths, some just tend to bend the truth sometimes. It's probably more likely they simply wouldn't reply if their wheels didnt match up to the weight.

Anyway aliexpress hold the money in escrow till everyones happy, faked pics sent trough the site would just be more evidence if you had to file a dispute. All of mine (small percentage to what I have ordered) have been settled with full refunds.

Purely going on the television footage it looked a pretty good decision to cut the route. Neutralising a decent in a sportive of that size would be an absolute nightmare to enforce.

Did you just say... wind... behind you? I don't understand.

you know when your riding into the wind and you go slower? it is in front of you no?

When it's coming from behind you blowing in the same direction as you are travelling it pretty much pushes you along and makes higher speeds easier.

I dont get what you don't get?

isn't their an old saying " May the wind be ever at your back " ?

So windy right now a car alarm just got set off from a gust, and my kitchen curtains slowly pulled across towards the open window since I last went in there about an hour ago
