BF2142 and Windows 8/8.1?

Anyone managed to get this running? I'm just getting a black screen

Having a look around and can't find much, wondering if anyone here is still kicking about on BF2142?

Reading it may have shut down?? But reports of servers still up... dont know!!

Cant really find anything on getting it to work with Windows 8.1

Yeah apparently it 'closed' a few months back but I would imagine that is just EA support, not denying access to the whole game.

I've had it working on W8 before...

Hahah. I was never a fan of Titan mode. I loved playing Camp Gibraltar, Cerbere Landing and Belgrade on infantry.

Just an update, managed to get it to work to find 0 servers online. This post will help anyone else to not waste their time!

Shame, BF2142 was great.

I never did play it much, but what little I played is eternally fixed in my memory. Fantastic game, even with the lag-fest that was Titan mode.

I want a new one

But exactly the same.

This is my favourite BF.

And the last BF before EA went for the £££££££ on the consoles and essentially consolified the series to the present day.

I think if you install gameranger you might find some servers.

I loved BF2 a little more but have settled for BF3 grudgingly
I do remember 2142 and was considering playing it again, well, not anymore lol

You can still play single player against bots tho and dont forget the Star Wars Mod First Strike which you can still find a server or too see their website below.

Loved 2142. Hoping battlefront 3 will be similar. Attacking the Star Destroyer/Corellian Corvette similar to Titan mode gonna be awesome if they do it right.
