Jaguar XE unveiled

So, as I type the unveiling is happening live on Youtube. Detailed photos have just cropped up on Car (carmagazine.co.uk). So, what are your thoughts?

Mine? I like the front end and profile. But that's about it. I find the centre console quite dull, reminds me of a Mk6 Golf. The rear also has a whiff of Audi about it which doesn't sit well with me. Drivetrains sound very appealing, however.

Like the exterior, interior looks a little cheap but hard to tell from photos.

Not difficult

. The interior already looks dated next to the C-class' though.

I'd agree with MinstaDave in that the interior looks cheap. But I think that's down to the half leather interior. Looks like the interior of a hot hatch from RenaultSport. The full leather interior pictures it looks much better.

It's a 3 series rival whereas the XF is a 5 series rival and both will be sold side by side.

Underneath is where it's special. Exterior is tuned for the segment... A little more conservative.

I always thought the XJ was the 5 series rival. Is the XJ the 7 series rival then?
