Volts cannot be touched :/

Max power 110%

Core @ 1500 and 1450 both froze on the MSI render thing right away and crashed driver

Its not hard you only have two sliders to play with at first. Like has been said leave memory alone so just use the core slider. If it doesnt work at 1500/1450 then go 1400/1350/1300 etc etc until its stable.

You should be using 4.0.4604 Afterburner at least.

Volts didn't help my MSI at all. I just used evga precision (as it was already installed) to move power target to 110 and core > 1500.

Just ordered a couple of the GALAX cards for SLI. I'm so excited :) Been saving BF4 for months to play it in 4K.

I've gone from a 5850 to a 670 and now to two 970s. I reckon I've been pretty lucky hitting the sweet-spot for price to performance over the years!

The benchmarks above are interesting.

I get an equal graphics score in 3dmark with my 670 SLI, but in Heaven my score is 500 points higher. You would have thought they would be roughly equal across both benchmarks.

Could it be a driver issue?
