Hows everyone's seasons going? Managed to get on an awesome run at the end of the first season with Cambridge and sneaked into the last spot for playoffs then had a crazy game with Tranmere in the final it was 6-3 in the end so I'm on to League 1 So difficult to get the right signings at this level, and I need about 5-6 players although surprisingly just signed Ryan Hall with no contest on a free.

First season in the Scottish Champs after promotion. Finding it very difficult - am in 8th spot, with the only two below me facing relegation so I'm having to fight every game. But I'm really enjoying the game as a whole. I absolutely love the scouting aspect and the new icons describing a player. I find them more helpful than just using the star system to be honest although I'm sure with a better scout they would be more accurate.

I'm struggling to find a few things though - where is the transfer rumours? Also, where is the injury table?

Have managed to get to the play-offs in my first season with Hayes and Yeading. Am really enjoying the beta so far, have had a few crashes, but the game seems pretty solid.

Also, where is the injury table?

You can find the injury table is in the stats sub section when you are viewing a competition.

Just downloaded. On the main i like the new UI. However I'm not getting on with team selection. with how it lists the spaces and the players below. Can you change it to how it was in previous editions?

This on the tactics page? I just used filter and selected 'Not at club' and suddenly it disappeared. Annoyed me as well.

How are you guys getting on? I think I may have come across a couple of little bugs but they are nothing show stopping. It's a really solid beta and it is great fun.

I'm finding it so difficult though, in the lower leagues that is. I've managed to get my lowly stature team into the Scottish champs, and although there is a little prize money I'm always fighting a losing battle it would seem. Finished 5th last season which was a great result and won £200k+ in prize money but that still only balanced the books. Can't make a significant profit at all. Which means I can't progress much unless I get very lucky. I can ditch players come the end of the season, or perhaps sell one or two good ones but then I'll be back to square one facing relegation. I've not had this problem much before. Money seemed easier to come by in the last game. I guess I could not renew my backroom team contracts. I have a reasonable support team but I am not allowed to scout anywhere other than Scotland which is where my main problem lies. If only I could turn professional then I'm sure I could make some progress.

I think this is mostly down to the goalkeepers, not sure if its a known bug I haven't read anything but sometimes they act strange following making a save, looks like they get stuck in position after the animation completely ignoring the ball afterwards.

Yes I think I've seen that a few times. Plus my GK's are generally awful. I honestly think I could do a better job, just standing in the goal and blocking out the sun light.

As always this update is save game compatible, you will not need to start a new save game for this to work in your game. We are aware there are some issues which have not been fixed which we are still looking into, the most notable of which is the crash which sometimes occurs on the individual training screen. For the time-being we ask users not to use that screen until we can give it the all-clear. Also there are no match engine changes included in this build other than optimisation.

That's mad. It's much better than 14 in many ways already and it's still beta. It's evident from that review he hasn't spent much time with it.

I've spent quite a few hours on it already and there's only one thing I am missing and that is the scouting screen table, where it shows you what scout has what level of judgment so it is easy to compare. The only way I can do this at the moment is to go into the staff tab and choose a custom setting.

I'm hitting the bar (Left/Right/Crossbar) a ridiculous amount of times, consistently throughout the game.

I mean it's at least 3 times a game, I've seen it happen 5 times a game.

Reminds me of last year's edition. On that I consistently had my right or left back injured game after game, no matter what tactic or instruction. Even starting a new game I had the same issue. In one match alone I had three rightbacks injured. Rage quit then came back to it after Christmas, then again during summer transfer window.

The game was much better by this time (I didn't get this issue) - lesson for me, I am going to wait until Christmas til I buy it, at the minimum.

Anyone actually play the full game or use the classic mode? I am currently using classic mode but might change back to the full game to see if i will like it more. Currently using Man Utd and they have certainly got injuries right, only play like 5 games and have 4 players out injured for a couple of weeks

He criticises the new/old menu style in the review, but it's a no brainer for me. With screens having increasingly wide aspects it makes perfect sense to take up a percentage of that with the menu system, rather than trying to cram more into a vertical layout. I haven't read the rest of the review yet (at work) so won't comment on that.

On the whole I love the new layout (hardcore players will still use the keyboard shortcuts to get to the screen they want anyway). My only complaint about that is the tactics screen is now slower to use - perhaps more logical, but worse overall.

I'm struggling to get into the new one generally though. There are too many reports of matches where you trash a top team and then get a drubbing off a poorly performing team - this can obviously happen in real life too, but it seems too common here, and my own experience mirrors the inconsistency in that too.

I'll let it mature and see the tactical advice mature to see how this evolves.

I've not seen some of these negatives. Sure, I've been at the end of a drubbing, in fact I've just been relegated for the first time in many many seasons with FM. But I have seen reasonably consistent performances from top AI teams. My team has been awful but then I didn't expect any miracles. I beat St Mirren 6-1 right at the start of the season, and went down hill from there

The GK is still having some problems, but it might just be my keeper. I've only been playing as one lowly team so far, to get a feel for it. It's rather good for me.

Some problem for me is the Boro Squad is rather underpowered.
They don't really have any goal keeper you'd want to put in goal.

Do FBs still get skinned by a through ball between them and the CD? The FB watches the ball and doesn't track the runner behind them - I want to punch my FB every time that happens.

It could just be Mignolet for me but he is absolutely shocking, at least every other game he lets an absolute howler in and concedes soft goals most games...

That move must happen about 100 times a game in FM14
