Hi all

I'm looking for a reasonably priced thunderbolt to thunderbolt cable (about the £5 mark) in the usual locations. However, everything at this sort of price seems to be thunderbolt to HDMI, or thunderbolt to display port. I've found thunderbolt to thunderbolt cables, but they are selling for more than £20 for half a metre.

Does anyone know why and where to get thunderbolt to thunderbolt for the same £5 as other cable end combinations?

Many thanks

Thunderbolt cables are expensive - you'd be lucky to find one under £20.

Think this is because 1) They aren't as widely used yet and 2) I believe there are special chips that have to be at both ends of the cable which drives the cost up.

I understand that but that doesn't explain why some types of Thunderbolt cable are available for £5.

Do you know if HDMI can drive 2560x1440?
