RIP Mark Bell

It's with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Mark Bell of LFO who died last week from complications after an operation. Mark's family & friends request privacy at this difficult time.

Gutted, I'm not sure that many here will be familiar with Mark Bell or LFO, but he/they were hugely influential in the techno/rave scene in the early 90s and beyond. He continued with LFO on his own after Gez Varley left in 96.

it was their self titled track that was my first experience of feeling bass rather than just hearing it.

if anyone is a björk fan, they must know the name as he produced loads of her stuff.

Leeds Warehouse Mix is a belter of a tune. Also loved Freak from the Sheath album. Had it on vinyl when I still had my decks.
