Which one Sony KDL42W706BSU or Samsung UE40H6400

Hi

Im trying to decided which to get Sony KDL42W706BSU or Samsung UE40H6400.

I was gonna replace our main TV (Panny P50ST I think thats the correct version lol) its a plasma. With the UE40H6400 and the panny was going in the other room to watch TV and PS4.

But we have decided to keep the panny (even tho it is electric hungry).

So questions

A) would it be worth swapping the panny for the 55" sammy. (as the panny would be used less)

B) Which one to get if A) is a no Sony KDL42W706BSU or Samsung UE40H6400. Main use is films/freeview/PS4.

Not sure if it will help but I have just purchased the 48" version of the Samsung - and I am delighted with it. It is great value, and has an excellent picture.

So far I can only relate to a sky HD connection - which produces great results. I am yet to purchase a Blue Ray DVD player - but am sure it will be equally impressive.

I have both the Sony and the Samsung, the picture on the Sony is better for me (especially SD content) and is also more responsive for games.

You certainly don't want to be replacing the ST50 with one of those ... not sure where the 55" version is entering calculations?? Either way buying a smaller/bigger version of either LCD is a big step-down on your (still excellent) ST50 plasma.
