Kitchen worktop fixed to the wall at the back with 2/3 legs at the front might be an option - depends on the room layout.

This was my desk for a couple of years. Big chunk of kitchen worktop and only one chunky leg!

Two batons attached to adjacent walls held up the back and one side of the desk. It held the weight of two monitors and 15KG of PC among other things.

I second getting a big slab of kitchen worktop or even timber and have a carpenter fit it for a few quid. You'll get something that will work best in the space you have and exactly fit your needs rather than buying a preset size.

Alternatively the Ikea configurable stuff is pretty good, you can buy a few tops and they should all fit together nicely in whatever space you have. http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/workspaces/10712/
it will probably be more expensive and less sturdy than a big wack of timber however
