What a lap! No doubt they'll have to invite Hamilton back for a third crack at it..

They'll be an official complaint from Mercedes that the car was underweight at the weigh in.

Probably the worst episode I have ever seen. Maybe 1 or 2 slight chuckles and absolutely zero car porn.

You need a rambulance/hurseulance or Chevy as your sense of humour is dead.

Didn't enjoy it so much this week.

Hope we get to see a car or two next week. I know it's not strictly a car show any more, and is more light entertainment, but I have to admit I was disappointed when after the news they just went straight back to the ambulances rather than a car piece.

Don't get me wrong, had a good chuckle at some bits, just kind of prefer a balance of the ridiculous challenges and super cars. Maybe next week more of a mix, given that last week was the whole Australia thing.

Pop down to your local dealer, they'll sort you with a test drive of anything you are interested in. If that's a bit too much for your stage of the research purchase there are dozens of YouTube video reviews by various car websites on seemingly every model ever.

The days of Top Gear doing much with car reviews are long gone, not only has everyone ever moaned about them in some fashion or another because they exaggerate or misrepresent or whatever, they're also so far behind the times versus online services that they can't bring anything new to the table beyond a bigger budget for nicer cinematography most of the time. It's rare that a series lands at the right time for them to get a decent exclusive or actually manage a meaningful comparison of some cars.

Less car reviews presumably also makes the show much more resellable as all the features, capers, carry on and mischief sells anywhere. A review of the new Golf GTI is probably not of much interest to many foreign markets where they can't buy one or is now 2 years old anyway.

Unfortunately It's becoming increasingly infantile and not being 12 raised little more than the odd chuckle. Used to be more amusing, anyone claiming that is comedy gold is little more than a moron. :)

Stop being so bloody facetious. You know full well I'm not expecting in depth reviews of the at latest hatchbacks. I'm talking about being able to see the latest super/hyper/performance/sports cars - the sorts of cars you can't just turn up at your local dealer and expect to test drive. If you can tell me where I can easily arrange a test drive of the McLaren P1 though, I'd be glad to hear it.

Youtube provides plenty of content of exotica, but it rarely has the production values that TG can provide. I'm not criticising TG for providing slapstick comedy - that's what the show does now, fine. But whereas before they've interspersed it with the above, this whole episode was just the ambulance thing. And whilst very funny in places, it kind of didn't really feel to me like it was worth the majority of the show.

So you're inferring that those that found this episode hilarious are morons? I'd tread carefully if I were you. For what its worth a lot of us are in our 30s and older.

If you can't deal with a little slapstick comedy I suggest you perhaps ought to watch Al-Jazeera or Russia today instead.

:p

Decent episode. Pretty funny throughout.

Would like to see some car tests next week though and some comments on the Focus RS :)

Proper burst out laughing when Hammond stuck the airway thing in the dummies mouth, wasn't expecting it at all.

Was hoping clarkson was going to do it to and cover the stig.

Yup. That'll do. :D

Weirdly, when they said they were building ambulances, my first thought went to one of the Merc hearses with a V8. Oh god... I'm turning into May...
