Got fed up of waiting so converted it into gpe earlier. Soon as I booted was prompted to download lollipop ota. Bit of a faff but worth half an hour messing around.

Dont have that on my board, just on/off charge function, i just found it odd that the moto g wont charge when the computer is off, unlike every other phone ive had that has done so.

Nope, actually when its off, my board has on/off charge, which can charge a phone when the pc is completely off, has done for all phones and was curious if anyone knew why it didnt work with the G - no biggie really was just curious.

Think the moto g needs at least 1+ amp to charge it, some cheap car chargers won't charge mine that have charged previous phones.

I plug my mothers Moto G into my switched off PC overnight and it still charges for me. (2nd gen)

I just got a message about lollipop coming in a few weeks for my moto g 1st gen. Saying make sure u got upgrade software upto date. Could have sworn I got the same message months ago tho. Anyone else get a notification today?

I got one too.... we got a similar message a few months ago but that was relating to updating a motorola app to 'prepare the system for the update'.

Mine is downloading the update now, after I went to About Phone -> System Update. Received the message from Motorola a couple of days ago.
