I decided to cancel my order for the ti. Ultimately I want silence so will opt for a semi-passive aftermarket cooler and also I was a little concerned having read that nvidia were no longer optimising drivers for the 7 series. Either that or the 9 series have been receiving heavy optimisations in comparison.

I don't really want to get a 970 though given the stigma around the memory, might just wait more until AMD releases there new cards and nvidia drop the 980 ti.

I have decided to get the 770 ref
In my case the ref is better and i cannot justify nor find the extra for the 970 and after the 3.5gb/0.5gb vram issue, i really dont want to!
I know there are potential future driver issues, but will mainly play borderlands and the like and i know there is The Division, Batman Arkham Knight but im sure it should still play ok at medium settings.
Saved myself £50 in the process as well, so thats near enough my ssd paid for

A mixture of things heat output, power draw, old tech, nvidia driver support and the fact it's going into my mirco system so the cooler the better.
