saw this M5 the other day. it had an ///M badge on the front grille, so must have been a rare one; possible special edition? and he had splashed out on one for the back too and a special registration plate holder just incase you were in any doubt that this is. in fact. an M series / Msport

It's not as bad as the 'M3's above and he wasn't explicitly claiming it was an 'M5' but it's still very sad and annoying becuase it's just a mid-spec 520D.

I don't have pictures but... I have spotted 2 cars this week with 'tow straps' attatched to them. now I know what tow straps are, and I know a lot of chavs put them on their cars to make it look like they do track-days - and I'm sure a handful of them do.... and I'm sure a lot of them are just for show (I actually quite like them on some cars to be fair)
but the first one I saw was on a corsa and it was ZIP TIED to a part of the front plastic trim. The owner was in hot persuit so I didn't want a can of stella chucked at me for taking a picture.

The next one was this morning on a Mk6 fiesta Zetec S. The tow-strap must have been held on with double-sided tape. I know the usual method for mounting them to mk6 fiestas, but this one obviously took inspiration from them and had simply stuck it to the front bumper in roughly the same loaction the proper ones are meant to be mounted to. you could see the bodwork thought the eyelet! terrible. I was driving in slow trafic so didn't take a picture but moved slowenough to confirm my suspicion.

British licence, so they can't put points on it. They caught an Austrian Merc at the same speed and weren't at all happy that they couldn't really do anything to either of us. :p

They do, however, leave your wallet substantially lighter, only accept cash and will escort you to a cash machine if you don't have any on you.

On the way back from Le Mans one year the guy driving got pulled and fined €90 (I think he was doing ~150kph in a 120 or 130 limit - we all chipped in). In the same layby was a much less happy English Porsche driver who was having €600 extracted from him on the spot. I'm not sure how fast he was going, but clearly it was VERY fast!
