I run plex server on my Win8 desktop. Thing is it only runs when iam logged in.

Any easy way to run it as a service?
Really tempted to get a HP microserver or something. Dunno how I'd explain it to the mrs though lol.

There is no official way (yet) to do that but there are a couple of suggestions of how to sort it on the Plex forums.

1) Autologin into windows & plex starts on login.
2) Use sc.exe to create a service and run the app that way - but you lose the tray app and upgrading is a pain.

disadvantage of nas i understand is that your clients and formats need to avoid transcoding as much as possible due to limited cpu resources...i guess the situations improving with fast cpus.
