I set DHCP to automatic , it was previously manually setup, and now I can't use Synology Assistant to connect to the dashboard

I just get page cannot be displayed for the following

http://192.168.0.8:5000/

Is that the address that DHCP has assigned?

Either use Synology Assistant to find it.

or

ping the name you've given it to find the IP

or

visit it by name instead of IP, ie http://nas:5000

or

login to your router to find the IP of it



I have my router tell it what IP to use, if you find out the mac address of the NAS, you can tell your router to always give it an IP of xxx, the nas can be left on Auto DHCP.
