Funny I happened to randomly see those LEDs on Amazon last night as a suggestion for something I "might" be interested in.

(They the ones with the naked USB connector that is just a continuation of the PCB?)

Yeah, I'll probably play it safe and go with Anker, thanks all. I saw some other brands going for cheap elsewhere, and I was just checking to see if there's any brands I should steer clear of, but better the devil you know, got Anker replacement batteries for my last 2 phones (Desire Z and Universal) and they haven't blown up in my pocket yet.

Yup, can be plugged in either way up. They are awesome but get stupidly hot.
