MailChimp help (image code)

Hello, I'm not a coder by trade but building a custom MailChimp template so require some assistance please. I am in the process of adding MailChimp's template language to the HTML so it becomes an editable template for the user.

How can add code to my images so they become blank areas to drag and drop images as per the existing MailChimp default templates?

Thank you. I would like to know how to code/create this functionality in custom MailChimp templates though (imported via ZIP file).
