I've owned both a single 980Ti and 980 SLI, my answer is single 980 Ti all the way. Less hassle and you know you're getting all the performance all of the time.

Sorry to hijack, is a single 970 good enough for 1440p?

Just about anything will be playable but expect to run a mixture of med/high settings and lower/no AA.

That's how I would feel at times. I'm I getting the correct performance from my second card. Not knowing if I was for sure.

Ok guys, thanks for the feedback.

I am looking at the Asus Strix or the Evga Classified, are these recommended and anything to worry about with either brand..?

May as well go for a high end 980ti.....would be rude not to....:D

If not above, what are the 980ti`s you lot favour..?

Thanks

Chris.

If at 60hz I'd say a single 980 is ok for 1440p, but to be honest I'd never buy a 980 at the current price as the 980ti is better value imho.

I'd probably also choose a 980ti over two 980s for 144hz.

I run a single 980 for 2k@60hz, but I do have to make a few compromises. Witcher 3 I had bring down shadow detail and turn off a few settings and it's mostly in the 55-60fps range. That's with it OC'd with a custom cooler and bios to about 1570mhz though! I was thinking of getting a 980ti, but 980 is fine really. I'll wait for Pascal :)
