vmware esxi how many cores cpu

thanks guys.

I was going to upgrade to the e3-1240 which has 8 threads.

I guess i can save my money.

I have 16gb at the moment. I guess i can just buy another 16gb to run more vms.

CPU is generally never the bottleneck, it's memory.

Definitely save your money, and only invest in memory if you need to - The performance graphs in ESXi are excellent so it should be immediately what constraints there are.

Agree here 100%. Memory is key for ESXi - and also if you can afford it, fast disks (SSD) for your storage.
