Hmmmm this is Sky we are talking about here there is a catch behind this offer Sky don't give good offers out. Without burning fingers in the future. People taking these codes good luck lol

What on earth are you on about? Free Sports & Movies for the entire duration of an 18 month contract? How can you go wrong? If you can't re-negotiate a good deal after 18 months then just walk away.

This is the price out should be in the first place, to attract people to upgrade. Another 3-6 months before this is a general public offer.

As most people are to lazy to care they'll feel back to full price after 18 months, and Sky will be making a killing again.

Early adopter pricing - they're obviously going to see how many people they can get to fork out full price before they start offering any discounts. Standard (and sensible) business practice which all the big providers do, not just Sky.

Mini box is included as standard with SkyQ silver.

Found out today that the existing customer upgrade offer will likely come out next week. No news on what it entails though.

Any idea how much it costs to go from standard Q with no mini box, and adding the mini in later? Or is this free and you just increase the subscription charge? :)

It looks like the restriction of the minis to the Q Silver system is subscription-activated rather than dependent on any hardware of the Q Silver box. It looks like, if you want to upgrade, you can either pay a one-off fee to swap out your Q box for a Silver (and continue to pay the original subscription price) or you can keep your basic Q box but pay the Silver subscription, which will enable mini functionality. Either way I presume you'd have to pay £99 on top for the mini itself.

Frankly I can't see much benefit to the basic Q system and I'd go with the Silver straight away.

Out of idle interest, what sort of deals to Sky employees get for themselves? Half price everything? Free? :D
