Yeah that's a good call man. I like having the thing early but it's a bit of a rip TBH. Might well only take a couple of weeks for prices to start tumbling...

Managed to get a MSI 1070 Gaming X, ordered last night arrived today Superb so far, very quiet. Fans stop at idle so will be easy on the dust gathering too. Just fired up a Doom session at ultra @1440 - super smooth 63C max.

Very very pleased given this is the upgrade I've been waiting for my GTX 770

Haha, yeah I know. Awesome piece of hardware ain't it Only real issue is that I get distracted looking at the card while gaming.

Pretty much toe to toe with a 980ti. Nice.

I am a 1070 owner in waiting. Currently on my IGP

Even project Zomboid is pants and MAME doesn't work properly.

Tried screenshotting in Assetto Corsa but it's horrific.

I have the cash but can't get hold of a non FE card that fits my case.

I think it's worth waiting on the non FE cards. While they can both OC to similar levels, the cooler isn't great.

Got my msi gaming x 1070 cards on fri. Running them in SLI and managed to get +100 mhz stable OC giving me 2060 mhz boost clock

Stunningly quiet in sli. Voltage OCed to full. Power set to 126% and top card max temp 76 degrees. Bottom card 70 degrees. This is after an hr playing rainbow six. Getting 40 to 50 fps at 4k max settings. Fans operatevatv 50 to 60 %

I'm happy for your results, but I can't help feel disappointment in seeing that even in mid 2016, two of the 2nd most powerful single GPUs can't handle 4k60

2016 wasn't ready for it.

In 2017 I think we'll be seeing Vega/1080Ti/Titan reaching and even surpassing the 4k60 mark.

TBH rainbow six has bad scaling. 60 to 70 percent at best. Other games are much better. Dying Light for example im getting 90 fps at 4k max settings.

That sounds more like it but then again, Dying Light is less taxing than Rainbow Six I suppose. How's it fair in Crysis 3/ Witcher 3? (without hairworks of course, that's not system friendly until 2020 haha)
