New build advice

Hey guys, I'm thinking of upgrading my aging system and getting something a bit more current!

I'm rocking:

i5-2500K
8GB RAM
GTX770
Standard 1080p monitor (SyncMaster P2450) Also have an old 1680x1050 as my secondary!

I have keyboard/mouse/headset and OS sorted

Build and get a new monitor or just build and stick with my current?

Main use will be gaming

Suggestions please guys, I want to spend around £1000 with a tiny bit of leeway.

If the build is used for gaming then overclock the CPU if your motherboard supports it and upgrade the graphics card.

Would that 2500k not bottleneck a 980, 1070 or 1080?
