Looking to buy my first gaming laptop. I'm stuck between two On the laptopsdirect website.
I want to buy either the
Acer Predator G9-591 Core i7-6700HQ 8GB 1TB - 128GB SSD DVD-SM 15.6" Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M 3GB Windows 10 Gaming Laptop - NX.Q07EK.007
for £1149.97.
Or
MSI GS60 6QE-093UK Ghost Pro Skylake i7-6700HQ 16GB 1TB + 128GB SSD Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M 15.6 Inch Windows 10 Laptop - 9S7-16H712-093.
For £1222.97.
I cannot post a link to the specs but they're under the over £1000 ** No Competitors **
Please let me know which one is better as I don't have a clue and it's my first time buying one.
(If it helps I only plan to game on it. Nothing else, games like fallout, battlefield day z. Etc)
Thanks in advance

I've been looking at a lot of gaming laptop reviews recently when researching what I may get. For what it's worth the MSI GS60 always got good reviews but I assume you've already searched. Almost definitely decided on an xmg U716 myself.

Looking at the specs and prices you are looking at, we would also suggest considering Gigabyte P35W v5-CF1......

More vRAM on the GTX970M card (double that of the ACER and GS60)....

P35W also comes equipped with hot swappable optical drive that can be switched to expand storage with addition of SSD or HDD (caddy supplied with the laptop).....

Hope that helps.

Hi there. You may want to have a look at our GS60 6QE 271UK

15.6" FHD Screen
GTX 970M 6Gb GDDR5
i7 6700HQ
128Gb NVMe SSD + 1TB

I have a 17.3" version of this with GTX 970M 3Gb GDDR5 and older i7 4720HQ. It plays Fallout 4 on high settings without breaking a sweat. Battlefield 4 you say??? 3 extrenal screens at high settings good enough for you ?

Sorry to mess with the reps (doing a good job) here but I'd wait a bit for the NVidia 10xx based laptops. They'll discount the existing ones even further. The more folks waiting the better the discount on the older generation you'll see.

Food for thought however,,,,,,

When new generation arrives, it will be:

  • New Technology and priced accordingly

  • We are now "post BREXIT" so all manufacturers will be dealing in a situation where costs have increased to the UK by around 10%

All we will say is that from GBT and AORUS we have some very good value GTX970M and GTX980M products in the market right now, and once they have gone, they have gone.
