Dalat is okay, Da Nang is the most popular destination at the moment.

I normally use the vinamobile network, you can buy the sim card pretty every where and top up it with prepaid scratch card.

I recommend this taxi app, is very good and a bit cheaper then the big taxi firms.

You must try the Chill Skybar, a open top bar with a amazing few of the whole city.

For food recommendation, go here

Whilst in Hanoi, try getting out to Ha Long bay and getting a boat around the islands (well worth it). Cat Ba island was nice in 1996, but they were building around the harbour at a rate of knots.

Sounds like a superb adventure have a great time you lucky lucky..........

Take the following to read:
Dispatches, Michael Herr - read it, its good
Chickenhawk, Robert Mason - read it, its good
A Bright And Shining Lie, Neil Sheehan - it is on my shelf to read

My understanding is GoPRo is very wide angle, supplement your footage with a digital compact camera so you have lots of footage at a more comfortable format.

Take some quality cigs with you, lots. Malboro lights? Offer them around to locals you meet, you will make lots of friends.

Safe journey, safe return.

I always thought Ho Chi Min was a bit of a dump tbh.

I would take a short trip to either Ha Long Bay or Angkor Eat. Siem Reap (angkor) is only a short hop by plane or an exciting bus ride if you're skint.

Well I had the time of my life in Vietnam thanks for the shorts they were superb tough and durable just what I wanted.

I have never been to Asia or outside europe on holiday before but was blown away by asian hospitality it was amazing. Ho Chi minh was tough to adapt to at first but I soon got round to the ways I am a country guy at heart though so I loved Phu Quoc island and escaping the city and doing the Cu Chi tunnels with Onetrip who were fantastic guides.

I met a Vietnamese girl out there and looking to head back in May next year and do Da Nang, Hoi An, Hanoi, Halong Bay with maybe few other stops so cant wait for that.

Few pictures from my trip

No you didn't.

To be fair, I'd imagine it's very easy. I had a very fit girl approach me when I was sat outside the hotel bar, and when I had tinder running I was pretty much matching with everything. Never done anything as I was with a friend, but it would've been so easy.
