Hi Guys

I work within Education and our students use Mandatory profiles. I have a few shortcuts which i want to put onto the desktop of the PCs although when i try to add these policies with GPP as a shortcut on 'all desktop users' the icon still does not appear.

Is this possible? I have tried on both user and computer policies.

Thanks! :p

I would suggest using a redirected Desktop for that, I believe this is what a lot of schools do.

^^ this

I redirect everything except Application Data and Start Menu. I use GPP to push out Start Menu Shortcuts.

If you're using mandatory profiles I'd recommend looking at UE-V (User Environment Virtualisation) which is part of the Microsoft Desktop Optimisation Pack (MDOP).

UE-V is a client you install on each machine which you write XML scripts for to capture user settings to a location (I use the HomePath) between sessions.

With this you can have Mandatory giving clean profiles each logon, but have the experience of saving things like Pinned Items, Office settings (Outlook profiles).
