Wow talk about a hot product.

Eventually, late at night (WED 15th 11:30pm). I found a retailer with 3x960 Pro 512GB in stock.

The price was considerably cheaper that both OC and the pre-order site. However there appeared to be no watch_dogs 2 free game.

I Promptly ordered one and cancelled pre-order with another retailer, pre-order was not with OC.

I do respect the fact the lack of stock is not any retailers fault and I still highly recommend OC to all my friends.

OC customer service is second to none.

3 days later a Watch_Dogs 2 redeem code in my mail box. Merry Xmas me.

I bought a 500GB Samsung SSD, got the email telling me I was getting Watchdogs 2 for free, but I get 'not eligible' when I follow the instructions :/

Edit: Never mind, fixed.

Hi khemist, Me bad works in Chrome not in Oprea. I tried and failed to link with google photos.

Lets just say I was running half speed before I realised PCIe lane was running on 2nd Gen not 3rd.

Oops school boy error.

Was running full throttle on Win7 after Samsung NMVe driver install. I rebuilt X99 system on Win10, have to admit it is running 2800 read and 1800 write.

Still can not complain, least I have one. Merry Xmas all

My pre-order at some other site for the 250GB is still pending stock since pre xmas and it seems the same on other online sites as well.

I see the PM961 and SM961 (250GB) are in stock for less money in the same places.

Which is the OEM equivalent of the Evo 960 that is out of stock, and what is the other one? It's hard to find reviews for the OEM parts, but I want whichever is closest to the 960 EVO which I did read some (good) reviews on and ideally wanted to buy (just didn't know I would have to wait so long!!)

I don't want to end up buying last years version or a gimped version!

I think that the PM961 is closest to the 960 EVO (As far as I am able to tell anyway). Tom's Hardware has a review of it.

I was also trying to decide between a PM961, SM961 and a 960 EVO/PRO. Not sure what to go for yet...

Thanks. The 960 Evo seems to be a fair bit faster in some tests, although in real usage I guess they would be the same.

Gonna wait a couple more weeks for my pre-order 960 Evo order to come through and if not get the PM961.

Update: Mine has finally shipped and should be with me next week. Long wait but the original price of 116EUR was honoured, which makes the wait less annoying!

I currently have Win10 installed on the 840 PRO SSD in my computer. Is cloning the best way to get started withe M2 drive or are there any benefits to a clean install (it's only about 3 months old and I only have a few applications on it).?

I cloned from a 850 ssd to my 960 no problems so far and seems to be runnning full speed.
Thanks for the info. If I could pick your brain a bit more, to save me time and effort :) :

1) I'll be cloning a 128GB 840 Pro onto a 256 960 EVO. Any idea of the time based on your experience? About 50GB of data on the drive atm.
2) What software did you use?
3) How does the cloned image get the correct nvme driver? Does it just auto install it via windows update when you boot the 960 or did you have to manually install it?
