6 years is a long time for the oil to be left. It gets contaminated because all the clutch wear gets washed into the oil. There is a filter which is changed with the oil which helps, but at 45k it well over on both age and mileage. If its been used for lots of short trips in traffic, clutch wear will be higher than a car that's cruised along the motorway in 6th for hundreds of miles at a time.

Just bear in mind any repair to the gearbox on these will leave you with a four figure bill. A replacement mechatronic unit, which the oil flows through, is £1500 for the part alone. They are generally reliable but they work to very fine tolerances.

Yes, I got enough off to cover this. Just drove it back 200 miles. Very smooth and great to drive. Transmission was spot on. Great features as well. Some small (so minor) things to sort...

- TMC did not seem to be working, apparently something to do with pointing to the right fm station somewhere in the settings
- passenger side mirror glass struggled to move, think it's something to do with the mirror and how it is mounted as motor moves and the mirror folds no problem
- one of the remote battery had died, just replaced and works fine

Superb car, really happy. Pictures tomorrow

TMC didn't work on one year map update. Not sure which year it was. Howard probably knows as I think he bought the update and discovered TMC didn't work.

Yes you're right. Since 2014 they removed the TMC licence, so to keep TMC you have to get a 2013 or before disk

The 2014 and 2015 maps don't have the TMC license but the 2016 ones do. It seems like Ford listened to peoples' moans.

You can buy them from here: http://www.navmapstore.com/category/320

How old is your car? Prefacelift DVD nav: http://www.navmapstore.com/category/391/Ford_Mondeo_TravelPilot_NX_DVD

Facelift SD touchscreen nav: http://www.navmapstore.com/category/2377/Ford_Mondeo_MCA_SD_Navigation_Plus_Update

But it's probably worth waiting until February-ish as the 2017 maps should be along then.

You don't need to 'configure' TMC, it's broacast on Classic FM's frequencies (and others I think) so as long as you have reception, it should just work (once you've updated your map DVD).

Oh and pics, info etc of the new car.

Ah great, I will await 2017 if they do include TMC now.

Here are the dealer pics, car slightly dirty due to the journey back today.

It's registered June 2010, last owner tried many tyres and stuck with Vredestein Ultras. Condition wise it's superb, just the minor items above. The mirror I have fixed, but looks like it's very slightly dislodged (the main unit). Half tempted to buy another unit (130ish) as easy to fit but not worth the hassle.

The yellow icons if you are eagle eyed on the dash was the low outside temperature and low remote key battery :)

Nice car OP :) i was considering one of these as my next car but I just don't think I could spend 7.5k+ on a near 7 year old pre facelift Mondeo. Given that a normal 2009 2.0 150bhp Titanium X can be had for around 5k now the 2.0 ecoboost offered in the Sport is just not worth the far higher price tag for 200bhp IMO. Even though they offer a lot for the price being the sporty model they just seem lacking when comparing it to the ST220 in the mk3 range which felt abit more special at the time and stood out more to the other models.

Looks nice. No red stitching though - I thought that was standard?

If the TPMS sensors are still present check the valve stems for any sign of corrosion, and if there is any get them replaced. The stems can snap and leave you with a flat tyre.

Looks like that's been owned by someone on Talkford - there was a guy making the mod to put the LED's down by the foglights on there which this one appears to have.

Love it in black, very nice.

Apart from the catacylsmic fail of the cam belt (due to garage negligence) my 08 Tit x 2.5T has been great for me in teh last 8 months. MOT due in march though so not looking forrward to what is wrong as I know rear arm bushes squeak like mad at moment

Lovely cars though. Smooth

Good spot on the LEDs! It does have red stitching, it looks like the camera hasn't captured it very well though.

Lovely looking Mondy, I've just done an insurance quote for a TitX Powershift near me.

Came in at £350 which was a suprise, I'm very tempted now.
