Waxoyl on glass

Hey bro's, someone split hammerite waxoyl on my windscreen and wiper, i've rubbed it off but it's been on for like 2 hours.

It's all a smeary mess now, I can buy a new wiper, but what can I use to properly clean the screen, will just glass cleaner do, or do I need something stronger as waxoyl isn't that friendly a product.

A tar remover will dissolve it. Apply it carefully to the windscreen and don't get it on the wipers or plastics. Give the wipers a quick wipe but don't let it sit on them.

Try WD40, I have used it to remove tar spots before now.

Try washing up liquid, it's actually a pretty good de-greaser. Leave it on for a while and rinse.

White spirit AKA the stuff in WD40 AKA tar remover.

Meths does a good job. Removes oil and flashes off leaving a dry non oily windscreen.

The tar remover residue can be removed using fairy liquid or at a push isopropyl alcohol.

Just use white spirit or tar removed and then wash the car with hot water and extra shampoo on the screen.

I just use meths on my windscreen whenever my wipers smear, gets all the oils straight off the screen. Keep away from your paintwork, it's not strong enough to strip it. But not good for it.

You only need to give the screen a good clean after using the tar remover. Tar remover to get rid of it and then give the car a wash.

IPA may clear it u-, if all else fails acetone aka nail polish remover, however this may burn the rubber!

But don't get it anywhere near your paintwork, because it will also remove paint.

Haha, I was going to comment not to do that. Windscreens don't rust, and it'll make a horrid mess.

Hope it comes off.
