This was filmed in Glasgow or at least parts of it were so I don't think it's going to have the same sort of story. However the part they filmed in Princess Square I believe was a shoplifting scene maybe similar to the opening scene of the original.

I feel the original was good but it's had it's time. I don't think this will be as good a movie but at least it will be modern and watchable I cannot stand old movies for some reason after their time has passed.

The only ones I do watch are all the mafia ones like godfather, casino, goodfellas, once upon a time in america, etc.

Not really relevant to T2, but I'm not sure McGregor is all there at the moment. He refused to go on GMB because Piers Morgan said that some of the anti-Trump protesters were 'rampant feminists'.

I don't like Morgan much, but surely he's entitled to hold that view without a massive Hollywood diva strop from McGregor? I'm more concerned about McGregor's attitude to free speech.

But anyway, bubble gum politics aside, I'm looking forward to seeing what Boyle comes up with. He can do very little wrong; 28 Days Later is a masterpiece in my opinion.

For what it's worth, Pretty much all of the first film was actually shot in Glasgow. Only the princess street parts were Edinburgh.

Thread seems strange, guy loves sound track and is worried about second film... but has never actually seen the first? lol.

This is one of those films that should never have a sequel, tbh. It was very much of the time period and should be left to stand on its own.

This the way I feel too. But they seem to be making sequels to everything these days and remakes.

Point Break, Total Recall, Beauty and the Beast.

Millions of sequels for every half decent movie.

Just got back from the flicks, not ideal to watch a film with only 2 hours sleep since Wednesday, but I managed to scrap though the film, some right genius parts of film making there I must say, it's going to be a couple of viewings once the blu ray comes along, was nice to see a mature audience at the cinema.

I thought T2 was fantastic - providing you seen Trainspotting on release and were young. T2 is all about nostalgia, growing old. At 14 when I seen the original, 34 now, I can relate a lot to the theme of the movie. Not the heroin of course, but growing old.

Very, very good. Falls apart as a standalone story wise, but almost felt like a commemoration of the original and a real treat for the fans.

Edit: just one thing escaped me, what was Spud's book going to be named? Clearly its a play on Irvine Welsh...?
