Replacment for a GIGABYTE Z170 GAMING K3

At the moment am using this board with one Asus 1080 Strix. but want to later this year go SLI. so I will be needing a new mobo because this only has 1 16xpci and the other is a 4x.
Ive got a I5 6600 running at 4.5Ghz with a Corsair H115 AIO cooler. is it best to go for another Z170 or the newer Z270. and what price would i be looking around for best fitment to use mainly for gaming. also am running the Hiper x 2133 Ram, running at 2200mhz. would say some 3000mhz be better suited for my system.

Am thinking mabe the Z270. this gives me the option to go for a I7 7700 mabe at some point. But with this work well with the Skylake

3000Mhz+ RAM would be good as it does help.

Am using a FIIO X5 Gen twos DAC for my Sound Card.
Eather Gigabye or Asus brand Mobo am looking at.

Is it true for most boards. That if you use 1 pci its 16x lanes. but if you want to run two its 8x?

Ultra is good, have one at mo. K5 would be better as second m.2 instead of using PCIe slot. Also there's a silver version of the Ultra coming out in 2 weeks I believe, Deaignare brand

hard to get anything to run well on sli at the moment or theres a delay getting that support
