Formula 4: British driver Billy Monger has serious accident

No update doesn't seem good. There was so much racing on the weekend that I haven't caught up with it all yet. British GT was a fun race, cars flying off everywhere with some good overtaking. Final race ended under the safety car after a massive shunt, both drives were ok. Cars definitely weren't though and the next round is in two weeks.

He's only 17. It's highly likely that his family don't want to release information.

I understand that but if it wasn't too bad we would have an update by now. The longer it goes on the more I'm worried about his condition.

It's not confirmed but it looks like Billy Monger has lost both lower legs. It appears that Tom Ingram has started a Just Giving page to support him and his family.

If true that's terrible. Such sad news for someone so young at the beginning of their racing career.

That is absolutely awful news! Was hoping it'd be more positive. Didn't really stand a chance though looking at that onboard. Got to be thankful to be alive.

Seems like he was a promising driver just at the s tart of his career based on seeing his previous results.

Lower legs. Obviously still awful and horrific, but hopefully he can learn to walk relatively normally with the use of prosthetics. Maybe even take inspiration from the likes of Alex Zanardi.

You sometimes forgot how dangerous motorsport is as we have massive crashes these days and people walk away from them. Not much to say other than I feel for the lad.
