So, I'm trying to work out how much soil I would need to fill the area that was one occupied by a garden pond.
It is triangular in shape. For the two lengths that form the right-angle of the triangle I have measurements of:
300cm & 332cm.

So a bit of basic maths gives us the area of the square which we simply divide by 2 to get the area of the triangle. The "other edge" of the triangle is actually curved, but for this process I'm treating it as straight.
The depth of this soil will need to be 45cm.
So once again, simple maths tells us the volume required to fill this triangular area.

However, all soil appears to be sold by weight - so I'll see bags at 850kg, I see bags at a tonne.

Because all soils are going to weight different amounts, I'm guessing there is no final calculation I can do that would enable me to work out (roughly, but better than ball park) the weight of topsoil I am going to require to fill this area?
Of can we take educated guesses and get some idea?

Cheers all - just looking for opinions :)
