I don't get it though. Cheating / affairs put aside, they keep insisting that it's not ok for blokes (married or unmarried) to look at pr0n, strippers etc, but it's ok if it's the other way round - for the women to look at chippendales, Full Monty etc. Opposites attract and all that.

Dont forgot the good old 50 Shades of Grey!

We tidied up our workshop and found a Nuts magazine from 11 years ago. I think it'd cause today's generation of pussies to have a mental break down

You know why nuts went out of business right?

Easy access to hardcore porn on the internet. :p

I think in reality they would be wondering why things were so tame in "your" generation. :D

Nuts magazine. When FHM went down the crapper, nuts came to fill it's place. It was aimed at people even more retarded than loaded/FHM readers.

Hey, in it's heyday FHM was pretty damn good, giving general bloke advice on pretty much bloke related, Exercise, latest gadgets, all manner of styles from suits to watches, Great holiday destinations etc

And therein lies the insanity of this whole debate.

My only issue with the SJW types is if they try to shut down debates at universities, or no-platform people they don't like. I think it sets a dangerous precedent of blocking free-speech. Everywhere else, Facebook, Twitter, some random guy shouting on a street corner - it's all fair game. You're free to ignore these people or block them from your activity feeds if it makes you feel better. There's a rich irony in right-wingers constantly moaning about having to listen to people that they find to be "too sensitive" or " pussies" or whatever.

We were meant to have Tommy Robinson give a talk at York in Autumn Term this year, but the talk was mysteriously cancelled after the SJWs all started protesting about him being allowed a platform. Such a joke, you cannot just ban someone from giving a talk because you don't agree with their views. Surely the sensible thing to do is listen to what he has to say, and challenge that based on your views with sensible questions after the talk

Yes, agreed.

However it's worth saying that free speech always has its limits. You're free to say offensive things, but you're not free to incite violence - for example.

I find it hard to believe all of them have a chemical imbalance, that's like saying every idiot who's aggressive and throws a punch right away has a chemical imbalance, or any manager who shouts at their staff etc etc. Their upbringing and ideology that the world is against them is the more likely issue.

Um... aggressive behaviour does stem from biological chemicals. The brain's role would be to direct aggressiveness towards a certain object(s). The "throwing a punch" example is a masculine type of aggression associated with male androgens.

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious rubbish about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... barefoot... BOTH ways Yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of guff like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of forty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a BLOODY UTOPIA!
And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the bloody library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen!
Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take, like, a week to get there!
Stamps were 5 pence!

Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick the ***** out of us! Nowhere was safe!

There were no MP3' s or Napsters! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself!

Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and mess it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone. Cause - that's how we rolled, dig?

We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mum, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen... forever!..... And you could never win....... The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel!
NO REMOTES!!!

There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you SPOILED LITTLE ********!!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the cooker! Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You little ********** wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980's or before!

Sounds like an excuse that can be peddled out deflecting any sort of blame for someone not getting a grip. Find something / someone offensive - dont make friends with them or watch the offending thing again - vote with your feet. Insisting everyone needs to confirm to your view is a joke and fairly intolerant/selfish

You know when one of these people is triggered... their body goes straight into a state that resembles a panic attack/anxiety. They get put into shock which causes their whole body to shake and cortisol levels to sky-rocket. These people are not able to maintain a calmness in this case because they cannot deal with the high levels of stress. The reason why all of this happens is biology related. Their body should not have gone into this state even upon hearing something offensive.

EDIT: Also you mention "Find something / someone offensive - dont make friends with them or watch the offending thing again" - this is exactly what the offended party wants! The fact is they don't find offensive things - offensive things find them. When they are walking through London underground and a "Beach Body Ready" poster finds a fat girl... she gets triggered and wants to change the world around her - to get the signs removed - so they do not find her again!

I'm sorry, but what? 'which causes their whole body to shake' Come on now, you're telling me, for example, everytime someone who has decided their pronoun should be 'Xe', gets called a 'he' the go into shock, start shaking, and their body shuts down? People need to get a grip.

I find this whole attitude very boring on both sides if I'm honest, not to mention entirely reactionary and pointless.

You just don't really meet people of either faction out there in the real world (the ********** and whatever there opposition are calling themselves today). It's only really on forums like this that you have the two sides slinging rhetoric at each other and NEVER finding middle ground.

Regardless, they're one in the same really.

I have no doubt that an actual PTSD suffers could be triggered into having an episode. But I don't think it counts when a fat person is offended that somebody dared to eat a salad. I will defend the '********* generation' as they aren't as bad as people make out. However the whole 'triggered' thing is completely stupid.

I haven't denied that, lots of UFC fighters/boxers are naturally aggressive but most of them don't instantly wallop someone when someone says something to them. You know why? Because most of them are confident in who they are, they don't have anything to prove, whereas with these SJW's you're just enabling them further saying "It's all muh biology a didn't mean to get triggered".

You're oversimplifying something to only the thought process. The people that throw instant punches would still be behaving in the same way had they been brought up differently - It would just be a slight variation of what you would have otherwise seen.

For example a "fat positive" feminist is triggered by a person calling her fat.

Had this woman been brought up as a Christian we would get: Christian woman triggered by a person calling Jesus an idiot.

These 2 situations get a totally different reaction from the media and this is where the problem lies - both should be treated as non-events.
