Can anyone advise me on what's recommended these days please? It's just the tower I need, no OS.

I'd like to take advantage of having an NVME as a primary disk and need a mobo that can take full advantage of something like a Samsung 960 PRO 512 GB. No pref for Intel / AMD and GFX just needs to be the bare minimum to display and preview the video.

Budget is £1k but lower=better.

Thanks for any advice.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £974.48
(includes shipping: £12.60)

Then add a cheap gfx card that has the outputs you need (DVI or DP etc), such as - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ddr3-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-265-ms.html - check the card supports 4K res from its output.

I have tried to make the setup quiet with a noise dampened case a nice PSU and the extra cooler.

Need to save money then you have the Ryzen 1600/1600X 6core/12 thread cpus.

That looks like a great setup and I might go down the 1600x route to put towards a decent(ish) card. Thanks a lot.

would you def go ryzen and not intel?

What if you do 50/50 editing gaming?

I just have so much faith in intel so little in amd.

I only create 3 to 5 minute 4k videos so don't need absolute power and it does seem that Ryzen offer a better price/performance product.
