Hi all,

Looking to get a 120d xdrive for the mrs to replace her 2011 60 plate Ford Kuga. My local dealers are pretty useless so don't mind going further afield to get the car. Went to Manchester to get mine and Wales to get her Kuga from where we live in Kent so not too fussed about travelling, as long as I don't have to go to Scotland etc... :D

Budget is £20,000 or there abouts. I've had a brief look and found a few around that, but would love to get another set of eyes. Fox, I'm looking to you on this one :)

I've been thinking along the lines of a BMW 120d xdrive m sport 5 door auto. 2016 16 plate with under 15,000 miles on. I'm unsure as to what comes standard on them now but would like some creature comforts such as:
  • Sat Nav (professional though most I've seen only have the smaller standard nav.)
  • Heated seats
  • Parking sensors (front and rear)
  • DAB
  • Camera would be nice but not essential
I found this one but it's a bit older than I would have liked and a bit higher mileage too - http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/1-Series/...59544-606343862-3497038.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_

On the other note, how would you look to price a 2011 60 Ford Kuga 2.0 AWD Auto Titanium with Titanium X pack. 19" wheels, sat nav, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, half leather with 60,000 miles on the clock (I think) and full Ford service history and recent MOT.

Also, what would you expect to get as a trade in as I'd rather do that than sell privately to save on time and hassle.

Many thanks.

Why does it need to be an xDrive?

It's a bit rubbish really, especially in a 2.0d. Saps power, chews fuel and wears tyres.

It doesn't have to be I guess, but living in a tiny village that's pretty cut off, I thought that it may be handy and my partner has never experienced a RWD car, let alone in the wet. She's only been driving 3 years and has a FWD focus 1.6 and then the Kuga AWD.

Most 1 series owners don't realise their car is RWD and DSC does a good job of controlling wheel spin in slippery conditions.

Still looking but this one (http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/1-Series/...59544-606343862-3497038.aspx?srcmdc=se_na_re_) is standing out due to the spec. They said they have a couple of hundred £'s to play with but not much more.

Also offered me £7000 for the Kuga :(

Looking around, I found one the same year but with less spec but slightly less miles (17,000 less) for £10,495. Would £10,000 privately be realistic for ours?

60k v 17k is not slightly less haha. I'd say 8500-9000 is what you'll get for your kuga. If you can sit and wait to sell it privately

So I've bought the 2015 white one subject to viewing and a test drive. Got it for £17,650 in the end which I was happy about to be honest.

Will be making the drive next week to potentially pick it up.
