LED strip light remote to control 2 off?

Rather than getting fancy with the wiring is it possible to purchase 2 cheap LED strips that come with a controller and just use the one controller to control both of them?

I have been looking into something similar. I have been looking at MiLight also known as easybulb too. They have some led drivers that can be remote controlled.

It does work but I had problems with mine.
I added an extra wire (by soldering) to my original controller and after a whil the power supply blew.
Then the unit itself gave up so I bought a "kit" off the bay which came with 2 leads and that one stopped working properly as well.

I had zero issues whilst running a single strip though.
