the 15 is a few hundred pounds more, its mainly for playing total war Warhammer and city skylines etc want it to be a bit future proof and not upgrade for a good few years as so much money, I read people also getting extra money off by emailing dell but will look into that after.what you think would be best for gaming etc

thanks Dean

Last time I was reading up on things, you were looking at around 30% performance difference between the 6700HQ and 6300HQ.

Also, don't overlook the fact that you can stick a full-sized SSD in the 15, whereas the 13 can only take 2 M2 SSD which are significantly more expensive.

Really depends on if the games you want to play are cpu-centric or not.

The main reason for going with the i7 over the i5 would be for hyper threading, so for multi-tasking the i7 would be superior. In terms of gaming, both will perform very similarly, unless the game itself takes advantage of HT, then the i7 would be much better (Not many games will take advantage of it though). Since both have the same graphics card in them, differences in gaming will be marginal.

The only other differences I can see is the screen. Both are FHD but the one on the 15 has a 120hz TN panel, so will be superior for gaming with a much higher refresh rate. And stating the obvious, 2.3 inches bigger. The battery in the 15 is also bigger, so theoretically should last longer as I believe the power consumption on both CPU's are similar, though the screen will no doubt use more, how much more I don't know.

Still debating if i can spend this type of money might try decide and wait for next sale , a few 15 models have the 1070 for aroind £1350 but then have to add the VAT so a lot of money bit sire ot woulf last a good 4 year or sp play the latest games like total war warhammer etc you think so ? And also the future ones as sure they wont change massively
