Peugeot/Citroen engine (Tu1jp Hfx) oil leak

hello i have an oil leak from the left side of my engine, i was wondering if the leak couls come from the thermostat housing as the oil leak comes from the head of the engine where theromstat is or will it just be rocker cover gasket that is leaking?

I know peugeots are bad no need to tell me this XD

If it's coming from the drivers side of the engine behind the alternator, it's likely to be leaking from the head gasket - quite common with the Peugeot/ Citroen TU engines.

How bad is the leak? The engines are so cheap and readily available, I imagine it would be easier to just drop a new one in rather than pull the head off for a skim and new head gasket.

The leak is coming from the battery side of engine and it's above the split for head and block so I thing it's rocker cover. I'll upload photos tomorrow as I don't get home till 5

Turns out the leak I thought was running down the engine is not what i thought, it's the sump that is leaking not the rocker cover gasket.

the rocker had a small leak
