I upgraded from a 980ti to a 1080ti. I was using 1.5ss with the 980ti and I have to admit that at 2.0ss on the 1080ti it’s not a massive step forward in terms of visual clarity. I do find a lot less micro stutter/freezing so it’s generally a lot smoother. I got the 1080ti in preparation for the Pimax 8k I’ve got coming. That should improve things significantly.

Short summary, yes there is improvement, but it’s not as impressive as I was expecting due to limitations of the headset screens.

I made the same move. Interested to hear about the 8k experience once you get it. :)

Another Thread Bump, I have just bought a 1080Ti. Going to see what it's like in VR compared to my old 1070 and Vega 64 card.

You should see a massive improvement. I got a factory overclocked 1080ti recently, and it's a significant step up from my factory overclocked 980ti. Allows me to turn supersampling up in VR a lot more while keeping the framerates high.
