Booked the Zafira in for a service.

After being quoted a lol price of £390 for a major service from my local Vauxhall dealer (which I used for the minor at a competitive £159 including breakdown cover), rang a local Vauxhall specialist who quoted £230 and can fit in any time next week :)

These cabin filters have foam round the edge that the OEM ones don't. Guess it's a feature of the FreciousPlus. Much more snug a fit compared to the original.

I was curious about these, but it seems they didn't deem the Z4 market to be big enough to make one for. Ah well, guess I'll stick to normal carbon ones.

FINALLY got this **** out. Bit more blowtorch on it and it finally let go. Been dousing this with plusgas every other day for more than a week!

Also broke a g-clamp in half when the leaf pack bolt sheared off when I looked at it, but I got both leaf packs secured better with new bolts, also got some nice big fat washers on there to locate the leaf packs and lowering blocks much better on the rear end. It still can move somewhat but I think to get it spot on I'm going to need to have some new plates welded on the axle. Maybe time to invest in a MIG welder. Hmm.

Also my relined brake shoes arrived

Feeling like I'm going to go the whole hog with new rear wheel cylinders and have my master cylinder resleeved too.

Seems never ending... Cars been handling like **** recently and was worried it was the bushes, my preferred garage said it sounded like it was my tyres (tramlining etc), they've put it up on the lift and the inners are wearing hard :( Welp! 4 Wheel alignment today... I'll post the results when I get them.

selling a car privately is such a pita.

I can see why PXing is tempting.

Speaking of which. On the book of face a a guy sold his focus st. Had a buyer come and look for his partner and he was happy. Purchased the car and off they went. Went to get a forged rebuild and found the engine to be knackered? Anyway it went to court and the buyer won so seller is like £4k out of pocket.

Px these days is tempting but you just don't get as much as you know the car is worth.

I had a guy commited to buy it but he couldn't get finance accepted so pulled out. Ffs

Sounds familiar, had a guy leave a deposit with me after making it clear I was only accepting cash, only to phone me up 10 days later asking to pay by PayPal because he wanted to use a credit card.

Promptly told him where to get off!

Read too many stories about people charging back by claiming it was unauthorized or something. Basically if already made it clear cash or a bank transfer was the only option, and had turned away other potential viewers in the meantime. Anyway, this was a couple of years back now!
