So if your a gamer, your serious about FPS and frequency clocks, I recommend the above, both the mainboards are good overclockers, yes they might not rival the flagship ROG boards, but they are also saving you around £100 and you will get your CPU frequency to within 50-100MHz of its maximum potential and these two motherboards are great and running memory at high frequencies upto 4000MHz hence recommending the 8 Pack memory.

Of course if you want to extract maximum performance then I would probably recommend an AIO type cooler if you have dreams of 5GHz frequencies.

By buying your Coffee Lake 8600K processor, motherboard, memory and cooler this Black Friday from our promotions you can save yourself easily around £100 in total, thats a great weekend on the town or £100 to put towards a new graphics card, monitor etc.

P.S. If you go with an 8G 2400MHz kit at £75 you should keep the budget under £500 !!!!

@Gibbo, I currently have an i5-6600K @ 4.5GHz with Corsair H60, MSI Z170A Carbon and 32GB of DDR4 3000MHz. I could re-use the H60 and RAM, then sell the 6600K + Z170A for around £200 easily. Performance wise, would it be worth the change?

If I were you, I'd ask myself, what would I like to be better about my PC. If your priority is gaming, a GPU upgrade will give a much bigger improvement in FPS.
If you are doing more professional / productivity type work, then yes extra cores, extra cache and higher frequency should give a benefit for sure, but if right now your finding the system not so bad.

Hi Simon, welcome to the forums. I would advise that you ask a mod to move your post to the correct forum, and take a look at the site rules. Your post above is very difficult to read as it all appears as one sentence, hence I'm not sure what exactly it is that you're asking for assistance with, other than it's related to your audio output.

Can't bring myself to buy something with Spectre and Meltdown issues, waiting it out for Ice Lake or Zen 2, I'm stupid I know.
