Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy a new laptop and have up to £1,000 to spend. I don’t need the very best laptop but something that functions well and is pretty quick. I will be using it for browsing the web, software programming, general lightroom image processing, word/excel, watching the odd movie/iplayer etc amongst other things. After a bit of research online my head is spinning. I’ve been to a few stores and played with a few laptops. Ones that have caught my eye are Dell XPS 13, Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series and some of the HP models. These laptops seem to be built well and just feel sturdy when I used them, as well as having decent processing capability, SSD’s and good amount of RAM. Only onboard graphics though.

Any recommendations? I’m off to the USA tomorrow and have seen that the prices of Dell laptops are significantly cheaper there so considering buying in the US

Any help/experience would be appreciated.

Ed
