Hi guys,

Halfords have 10% off all bikes today.

I want to start cycling to work and having read historic posts and a few reviews thinking of going for the Voodoo Marasa.

Regular price is £400.00, which seems steeper than last years’ posts recommending this model. Appreciate it may now be revised and more expensive or could be Halfords bumping the price ahead of “discounting” it by 10%.

I’ve read recommendations for signing up with British Cycling to get 10% off at Halfords.

Any ideas on how this is implemented? If I sign up now can I use the discount today? Can I likely use it alongside today’s 10% offer?

Thanks in advance.

The Marasa was £320 earlier this week, at £400 in Halfords, the better buy today would be http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes/boardman-hybrid-comp-bike-45-49cm-frames (if this EOL model is available near you) or http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes/voodoo-agwe-mens-hybrid-bike-18-20-frames.

IMO, the best hybrid deal with today's promo is http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/hybrid-bikes/boardman-hybrid-bike-pro-45-49-54cm-frames , especially if you have BC discount (which would make it £608). ~9Kg for a hybrid, especially under £1k, is unheard of.

Was just thinking last night about how I joined BC at the start of the month and hadn't had my membership card through yet, it turned up today. That's 4 weeks to get the card, so if you want anything from Halfords best plan ahead!!

Cycle to work scheme available? I’m paying an effective 12 x £44 for my Boardman Pro29’er after tax relief at source of 40%.

Then it’s ‘leased’ back to me for the following year for free then the following year its mine for 1p.
