I'm guessing you game at 1080p? If you game on a higher resolution then a Ryzen build will give same performance while being slightly cheaper.

I know the PSU is way overkill but its on offer atm so opted for it instead of a lesser one.

I see a lot of builds with i5 cores, is an i7 too expensive for this sort of budget? I guess for a gaming PC there's more priority to the card and ram?

I'm just a computer newbie, so I'm curious is all.

Thanks

For me the card always has the priority and right now I feel the 1070ti sits in the best performance for price category.

For £1000 the budget is to small for an 8700k as you need better coolers on top of it. Also look at most benchmarks and the 8400 gives very similar performance in most games at 1080p resolution and still offers 6 physical cores.

If streaming and editing is on the cards then ryzen would fit a lot better.

R5 1600 and stock cooler saves you some money (You can always add an aftermarket one later on). You can get a cheaper kit of 3000MHz ram. You don't really need for 650W on the psu so the 550W would be enough, although out of stock at the moment.

Assuming you get free delivery it is in budget with a 1070 ti.

It looks like ill need a case to put it in as the other one is a bit small. what can be sacrificed a bit? Also is the stock cooler that bad?? why not choose the 1600x over the 1600 or is it just the price?
